Swap Meet a Success!

The 1st annual Aztec Speedway swap meet was a success. Lots of parts and complete race cars changed hands. Thanks to everyone that participated and next year should be even bigger.

Next on the List.

Now we turn our attention to the Race Logic chassis seminar coming up in March. If you are changing classes and need help on chassis setup or a refresher on setup. Please give us a call and reserve you place in this seminar. It is a two day class with optional track time at Aztec Speedway

Hobby Stocks are sanctioned!

The Aztec Speedway Hobby Stock class will be sanctioned by USRA. We have negotiated with USRA to allow us to run the exact same rules as we did in 2011. No changes, No tire rule. To race at Aztec Speedway you will have to purchase the USRA Hobby Stock driver’s license. This is available on line or at the track. If you go to the USRA web site you can look at the benefits that sanctioning brings. The big thing is you will now be running for season point’s prize money.

I will state it again, we will run the same rules in 2012 that we had in 2011, NO Changes, NO Tire Rule.

Number Registration

Starting on February 20th any number reserved and not paid for will be up for grabs on a first come first served basis. If you want a certain number you need to reserve it and purchase it. We will not be having duplicate numbers in any class. If you show up to the track and someone already has your number and has paid for it you will be required to change yours. If your number has not been taken and you race, the number registration fee of $10 will be deducted from your winnings.

Rule Changes for 2012

  • All IMCA classes are required to furnish their own transponders in 2012. Rental units for out of town racers only. If you run 4 events at Aztec Speedway you will need to furnish your own transponder.
  • Racievers are optional in 2012 but will be required in 2013.
  • The new Hornet class will be debuting at Aztec Speedway in 2012. Entry for the Hornet driver will be $20. The first place finisher will get a trophy and a check for $50. First place will be the only paid position until the car count reaches 8.
  • The Mini Stock class will run with the Hornet class in 2012. Entry for the Mini Stock driver will be $20. The first place finisher will get a trophy and a check for $50. First place will be the only paid position until the car count reaches 8.
